Yes, it is absolutely safe! The program does not modify any files that were already stored on the computer. After the program is removed, everything will be the way it was before the installation.

The program uses a system of hooks for integration with the
"Start" menu. A hook is a special library file, and ours is named VistaStartMenu.dll. It detects when the user moves the mouse pointer to the
"Start" button, so that it can then replace the standard menu with your own customized menu. Some firewalls do detect and inform you about the the addition of new hooks on your system, because they can potentially be used for spying. Vista Start Menu neither spies on the user nor sends any data via the Internet, assuming that you downloaded it from the developers' official site.
